Its not a strike it’s a ‘Satyagrah’ to ensure justice to the doctors who are suffered for years due to betrayal of the State Government. After decades of services, ageing doctors are denied of old pension scheme, they have been kept aside from benefits of DACP and other benefits. The IMA will make parallel OPD at IMA for patients in emergency, if the ongoing issue is not sorted out within a day or two. As even doctors don’t want the system to be paralysed for long, hence we are waiting for a positive response from the State Government so that issues can be solved,” expressed Dr Amrendra Pandey, District President, Indian Medical Association, Jabalpur.
Dr Pandey was addressing the press conference called on Wednesday evening under the joint banner of IMA, MPNHA, MPTA and MP Government Doctors Association to explain the public the reality of the sad state of affairs of setting up of free OPD.
He said that earlier, the Chief Minister became ready to coordinate but again any bureaucrat came and the entire talk
became futile. Doctors are the most peace-loving persons and try to postpone strike like situation till the end. But the government left us with no option other than going on indefinite strike. Dr. Pandey said that the High Court has listened only one-sided story and issued order without hearing our part of the story. We will go to the Court to present our side tomorrow. We request the Court to issue such orders which can be implemented on practical grounds. Doctors will never go against the Court’s order but definitely take issue before the honorable court tomorrow.
