Over 3,500 students of Biology Stream appeared at National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) 2023 at different allotted examination centers of Bhilai and Durg here on Sunday. The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the exam with high security arrangements and no untoward incidence was reported from anyone of the examination centers in Bhilai and Durg. Most of the students found the paper moderate and found some questions of chemistry difficult as well as lengthy.
The examination was held from 2 pm to 5.20 pm in pen-paper mode and the paper was comprise of four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. Each subject had two sections namely A and B section. The section A consisted of 35 questions while section B consisted of 15 questions in each subject. Out of these 15 questions in each subject, a student had to choose and attempt 10 questions. Each subject had 180 marks and total marks of the exam was 720.
Majority of students and subject experts found the paper moderate and only chemistry section to be more challenging than Physics, Botany and Zoology. Dr D N Sharma, Subject Expert of Chemistry said that in chemistry, questions of inorganic chemistry were hard and challenging. Most of the students found difficulties in solving of these questions. The overall paper was easy and it will increase the high cut-off in admissions as many of the students will score high marks in the examination. In Biology section, students found the questions of Zoology was easier than Botany portion. On the other hand, this year, Physics subject came as a surprise and many of the students found the paper easy and as a result of it, a large number of students attempted all of questions in Physics portion. Arindam Bose, a medical aspirant who appeared in the exam from allotted exam center in BSP Senior Secondary School Sector 10 Bhilai found paper as moderate and many portions of it easy to attempt.
The questions of Physics, Zoology and Botany were easy but some questions of Chemistry were tough and time consuming. Neeta Sharma, another aspirant who appeared in this exam second time informed that as compared to last year, this year paper was easy and except chemistry, questions of other three subjects were easy and did not any difficult in solving them. The results of the examination will be announced very soon and it seems, this year high cut-ff would be witnessed in Chhattisgarh too.
