Aiming to push the boundaries of Bundelkhand’s identity beyond famous temples, MP and BJP State Head VD Sharma is making strides for 360 degrees development of the region. The region which is tagged with unemployment, poverty and labour migration issues is emerging as a tourist hub, religious centre of the country, moreover, mitigating labour migration. It is MP Sharma’s efforts that Khajuraho station will now be known for its world class station facilities. While Khajuraho is internationally recognised for its rich architectural grandeur of the Western Group of temples that UNESCO recognises as world heritage, the districts of Chhattarpur and Panna have lesser-known destinations that can serve as model local tourist destinations. Vision of the Member of Parliament V D Sharma and BJP State President is going to add many feathers to this area.
Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, State Head of BJP Sharma who has vision for the region has said that since it is bestowed with natural beauty, near to Uttar Pradesh, religious importance, it has huge scope of development. This in turn proved to be a boon for the locals by creating employment prospects for them. E.g. Railways will fund farmers for setting up solar power units in Khajuraho. We are working to increase road, rail and aviation connectivity. It will give impetus to economic progress.
Facilities will also be augmented at Maharaja Chhatrasal Railway Station in Chhattarpur. Now, I feel there should be some reflection of Great Maharaja Chhatrasal Ji in here. Either there should be his statue or other art piece which will depict his life.” There is an ample scope to increase rail connectivity. It is my wish to start a train connecting Varanasi and Bundelkhand. Since the belt has natural beauty as well as religious significance.” Notably, the influence of Bageshwar Dham has increased in the region in a short span of time and people from other parts of the country arrive and stay here. When we asked, the region is marked with droughts, short-term rain, intermittent dry spells, flooding in fields and abrupt change in temperature. It all adds to the uncertainties and seasonal migrations. When will work on country’s first river linking project Ken-Betwa project begin on ground?
Replying to ‘The Hitavada’s’ query, he said it is on fast track. The Centre has earmarked Rs 14,000 crore for the implementation of this project. In two-three months foundation stone will be laid done. It will be proved of great importance to fulfill irrigation and drinking water requirement of Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Datia, Damoh, Raisen, Vidisha, Sagar, Shivpuri regions. It will turn agriculture scope in the region to a brighter one. It will enhance agriculture and industrial activities in the region. more major projects on natural farming will soon be kick started. The region has hosted a series of international events whether it is global investors summit where crores rupees MOUs were inked or G-20 meeting. Visitors were enthralled with the beauty of temples. Administration has started work on war footing in Khajuraho Constituency. Work on expansion on residential (From 52 hect to 189 hect), Trade (( From 30 hect. to 153 hect.) and Industrial (1.13 hect to 16.63 hect) and Creational area is going on. This will benefit Rajnagar and adjacent eight villages namely Achnar, Lalgunwa, Jatkara, Kharohi, Lalkhedi, Tikuri and Bameeta.
Denying charges of ignorance to senior leaders, he has said that it is not true. Sharma, who is on campaign in Karnataka and Gujarat, finds in Madhya Pradesh due to strong and constant booth level programmes, vote share will definitely increase.
As far as BJP is concerned, constant ground work is going to give mileage to the party. Government has done umpteen work for uplift of weaker sections. Our leaders irrespective of their hierarchy from MP to Booth workers will spread awareness about these schemes among people. Which is definitely going to work in view of the coming elections.
Through programmes like Vijay Sankalp workers and leaders, the party reaches out to almost every household. Which is a constant process unlike election time instant stand to go and meet people.
