Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh, along with senior party leaders and a number of workers watched the film ‘The Kerala Story’ on Monday. Singh stated that the film illustrates an internationally organised conspiracy of religious conversion and ‘love jihad’. He believes that there is a need for massive public awareness to stop such activities.
During an informal talk with media after watching the film, Singh emphasised that the exploitation of women in India, including Kerala is not a new phenomenon. It has been happening for years, but now it is taking place in an organised way. The film depicts how all the limits of atrocities are being crossed in planned way of instigating women in the name of love jihad, wooing them and then taking them towards terrorism.
Singh explained that the film shows how people are conspiring to convert women on the basis of Islam and the brutal atrocities committed on them are clearly depicted. The film also highlights that about 32,000 girls have gone missing from Kerala State and this is the official figure. The number can be more than this and the work of increasing terrorism has been going on in the country for years.
The Member of Parliament also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for making the film tax-free in the State. He has appealed to the public to watch this film with their families. Singh believes that films like ‘The Kerala Story’ play a key role in creating public awareness. He said the government and security forces are doing their work to curb terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, public awareness is also crucial and films can directly reach more and more people.
