CITY’S Dr Inderjeet Sing Randhawa, a former Indian captain of senior and junior handball teams, has been named coach of Rajasthan Patriots, one of six teams participating in the upcoming Premier Handball League to be held at Jaipur, Rajasthan from June 8-25. Sport Officer with Raisoni Group of Institutions, Randhawa, who played for country 16 years, is only coach from Maharashtra to coach any team in Premier Handball League.

Other teams in the premier league are — Telangana Talons (Hyderabad), Rajasthan Patriots (Jaipur), Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), Garvit Gujarat (Gujarat), Maharashtra Ironmen (Mumbai) and Delhi Panzers (Delhi).

Randhawa was Asst Coach of Indian handball team for Asian Games held at Guangzhou, China. He was head coach of junior and senior Indian men’s team for 8th edition of Asian Beach Handball held at Tehran.
