DR AMBEDKAR College Sport Academy won the Vidarbha Cricket Association organised U-16 Inter-Academy One-Day Cricket Tournament defeating SGR Cricket Academy by two wickets in the final played at the VCA Civil Lines Ground on Saturday.
With some fine bowling by skipper and man of the match Arnav Sinha (3-23), Vihan Gundhare (3-23), Om Luthade (2-20) and Devraj Patil (1-13), DACSA bowled out SGR, who opted to bat first, for 111 in 29.4 overs. Akshat Suryawanshi (33) and stumper Gunvant Awasthi (28) were the main contributors. Only four batters could score in double digits.
DACSA lost some wickets at the start and were 21-3. Devraj Patil (42; 57b, 6x4) dropped anchor at one end to bring the team close to the target. When he became the sixth batter to get out, DACSA still needed 18 runs. The team lost two more before Viraaj Maheshwari (13*; 12b, 3x4) closed the game hitting three boundaries.
