Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the State Government is working for the empowerment of villages, farmers, tribals, labourers and women. He was addressing the special backward tribes and forest rights letter distribution ceremony at PG College Hockey Stadium, Ambikapur in Surguja district on Tuesday. The Chief Minister further said that the state government has worked for providing their social and economic rights to every deprived section. The Congress Government has made its priorities clear even before the government was formed in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh government is working on these issues, he added.
 
The Chief Minister benefited about 650 beneficiaries, including appointment letters for teachers to 103 people, forest rights pattas to 193 beneficiaries, Ayushman cards to 100 people and appointment letters to 39 people for teachers of Swami Atmanand schools. ATMs were distributed among 100 farmers, millet seeds to 50 farmers and sprayer to 10 farmers. Baghel congratulated the beneficiaries of the schemes, including the youth of primitives tribes, who got the appointment letter of the government service and the lease holders, who got the forest rights lease. Baghel said that in the last two months, the State government has released an amount of about Rs 48 crore in the accounts of the unemployed, which is going directly into their accounts.
 
He said that many youths have got training and have also got jobs through placements. Appointment letters were handed over to 50 youths of the first batch, who got placements in this programme. Out of 103 eligible applicants belonging to primitive tribes, 58 male and 45 female applicants were appointed as assistant teachers, forest rights lease distribution to a total of 193 beneficiaries, including 106 beneficiaries of the Scheduled Tribes, under other traditional forest dwellers. Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charan Das Mahant, Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge Kumari Selja, Health Minister T S Singhdeo, Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Korba MP Jyotsana Mahant, Parliamentary Secretary Chintamani Singh Maharaj, Parliamentary Secretary Parasnath Rajwade, State Commission for Scheduled Tribes Bhanupratap Singh, MLA Dr Preetam Ram, MLA Vinay Jaiswal and others were present. Earlier, Surguja Collector Kundan Kumar presented the reporter of the district in the programme.
