TEHSIL Police took an alleged homosexual disguised as a woman doctor into custody from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Mayo Hospital on Wednesday. Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) jawans kept a vigil on the ‘woman doctor’ as she was loitering in the Mayo Hospital premises. The woman doctor’s behaviour, too, was suspicious. Initially, the MSF jawans thought that the person had entered into the premises to steal a child from the maternity ward. Later, MSF jawans nabbed her on suspicion and were shocked as she turned out to be a bearded man.

 

During questioning, he told the security personnel that his name was Javed Shafi Sheikh, and residing at Tajbag behind the dargah. Cops seized some cosmetics, three cellphones and other material from his bag. Prima facie, police said, Javed was allegedly in search of a man of the same gender. Disguising as a woman doctor, he thought he could easily get a partner to fulfill his carnal desire, they added. A senior officer told ‘The Hitavada’ that police are checking his criminal antecedents, if any. Verification of his name on the basis of Aadhaar card, voter Id-card and address proof was underway, he added. The officer said, appropriate action would be initiated against him only after the investigation was over.
