Tanishq Bhagat second in State, tops Vidarbha in NEET

In his very first attempt, Umred’s Tanishq Bhagat has come out as the Vidarbha topper in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET)-2023 and as the State second topper. His All India Rank (AIR) is 27 with an impressive score of 99.99 percentile. Tanishq is a student of Dr Ambedkar College, Nagpur. He had scored 90 per cent marks in the Class XII examination, results of which were announced recently. Tanishq did his schooling from Sanskar Vidyasagar School, Umrer and shifted to Nagpur for further studies where he stayed in a hostel.
 
The Hitavada caught up with the young lad in his moment of glory. When asked why he wanted to be a doctor he said, “I am interested in Science, especially Biology. So medical profession would align with my interest and goals. Also, both my parents are doctors and I want to follow into their footsteps.” Tanishq is aiming for admission in AIIMS, Delhi for MBBS. He said that he might choose Dermatology or Cardiology in future for specialisation. Giving advice to NEET aspirants, he said, “I started preparing for NEET in Class XII. I would advise students who are now preparing for it to just believe in themselves and be sure about their goal. Keep working in that direction and seek help from your teachers as their guidance keeps one on track.”
 
“I studied majorly from the NCERT books and kept giving mock tests which increased my confidence and helped me evaluate my knowledge. The questions in mock tests made me realise the different ways in which a question could be put up,” he shared. Tanishq used to study for 7-8 hours initially and then gradually increased it to a good 12 hours per day. He said that he was expecting a score of around 700 but the final result was a sweet surprise for him. Tanishq’s mother, Vandana and Devendra Bhagat are Ayurveda practitioners in Umred. His younger brother is in Class X. He had enrolled in a coaching class and mentioned that the academic and emotional support he got from his teachers helped him through, during his tough times.
