People of State got much-needed relief from the heat as showers lashed State capital on Tuesday evening. About one and half inches of rain recorded in an hour in State capital where Indore also received rains. Madhya Pradesh is also seeing the effect of Cyclone Biparjoy rising from the Gulf of Arabian Sea. It rained in 17 districts in the State. It also rained in 19.5 mm in Narsinghgarh of Rajgarh, 19.5 mm in Lateri of Vidisha, 19 mm in Shivpuri, 17 mm in Guna, 10.6 mm in Gwalior, 9 mm in Gohad of Bhind, 7 mm in Nepanagar of Burhanpur, 7 mm in Ashoknagar city. Shivpuri city recorded 6.5 mm of rain, Sehore recorded 5 mm of rain. There was an effect of scorching heat in Narsinghpur, Sidhi and Rewa.
 
The Meteorological Department has predicted more than 4 inches of rain in 8 districts including Gwalior-Shivpuri within 24 hours. There are chances of rain in Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Rajgarh adjacent to Rajasthan. On the other hand, there may be thunderstorms in Indore, Jabalpur-Ujjain. Narsinghpur recorded 43 degrees Celsius, 42.6 degrees in Sidhi and 41.8 degrees Celsius in Rewa. For the first time in June the temperature of Gwalior recorded at 29.5 degrees. Whereas it was 34.7 degrees in Indore, 38 in Bhopal and 39.5 degrees in Jabalpur.
 
According to Senior meteorological official of IMD Bhopal said that the impact of cyclone Biparjoy has more in Gwalior-Chambal division. There is an alert of heavy rain from June 19 to 21. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena and Sheopurkalan on Wednesday. There is an alert of heavy rain in Vidisha and Raisen on June 21 and also expected in the Bhopal as well, while light rain may occur on June 22. It is expected to rain with thunder and lightning on 23 June.
