The School Education and Sports Department of Maharashtra Government has declared Round -1 cut-off for Class XI admissions on Thursday. Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, Shivaji Science, Hislop, Dharampeth Science and Commerce, LAD, G S College, Santaji College, Somalwar Junior College are the most sought after institutions. After first Round, Of the total 53,480 seats, 50,346 are still vacant. In Science stream, the close tussle has been witnessed among Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi and Shivaji Science College, Dharampeth Science, LAD. Dr Ambedkar College has enrolled Charul Manish Vitalkar, the first Vidarbha region topper of SSC Maharashtra board with 100% has enrolled in Commerce whereas Isha Kewalramani with 491 marks and 98.20% is first City topper has taken the admission in Science. Disha Mankani with 490 marks securing 98% has got enrolled in Science stream.
In Commerce G S College of Commerce, Santaji, R S Mundle Dharampeth Commerce and Arts College and Dr Ambedkar were prefered. In Arts LAD, Hislop, R S Mundle Dharampeth Arts and Commerce, and Dr Ambedkar College remained the most sought after institutions. Of the total intake of 53,480 seats, 13,846 seats have been allotted, of those 2,381 have taken admissions through Centralised Admission Process (CAP). After the addition of 753 quota seats, 3,134 total admissions have done. This has led to vacancy of 50,346. The maximum vacancy is experienced in Science stream-- 24,473 followed by 14,922 in Commerce, 7,733 in Arts and 3,218 in MCVC. Total 194 colleges have participated in the process. A total number 26,676 students have registered in Part -1 and 22,723 students did the necessary procedures. In Part -II the number of students filled part -II are 17,310.
