In a major breakthrough, Jabalpur police nabbed 15 inter district vehicle-ifters and retrieved record numbers of 125 stolen motorcycles from them. The members of vehicle lifting gang were engaged in stealing vehicles through duplicate keys in Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Katni and Harda districts. Superintendent of Police, Tusharkant Vidyarthi (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Friday. Additional Director General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Umesh Joga (IPS) applauded the efforts of Jabalpur police and termed it the success of special campaign ‘Operation Shikanja’ initiated by Superintendent of Police, Tusharkant Vidyarthi.
SP, Vidyarthi added that the vehicle lifters were apprehended during a special campaign by combine team of District Police and Crime Branch under the supervision of Additional SP (Crime), Summer Verma, Additional SP (City), Priyanka Shukla (IPS), Additional SP (South), Sanjay Agrawal and CSPs identified and apprehended 15 vehicle lifters in last one month. He expected that the information collected from arrested men will soon disclose more vehicle lifting cases.
The arrested have been identified as Vinay alias Aryan, Amit alias Bandar, Shivam, Uttam Patel, Raj alias Vipin Thakur, Ashish Jharia, Mahendra Soni, Subodh Raikwar, Rishi Raikwar, Abrar Khan, Raja Bahelia, Ritesh Verma, Kishan Jharia, Juber Khan, Vijay Patel and others. On the identification of accused, police have retrieved 24 stolen vehicles from public places but its registration numbers, chassis numbers and engine numbers were manipulated by the accused. Vehicle-lifters were apprehended with active working of police teams led by SHO, Madhotal, Rina Pandey Sharma, SHO, Garha, Rakesh Tiwari, SHO, Kotwali, Anil Gupta, SHO, Lordganj, Pratiksha Marco, SHO, Gorakhpur, Arvind Choube, SHO, OP TIwari, SHO, Vijay Nagar, Sandeepika Thakur, SHO, Tilwara, Sarita Barman, SHO, Panagar, Ritesh Pandey, SHO, Gohalpur, Vijay Tiwari and Crime Branch’s ASI, Mradulesh Sharma, ASI, Virendra Singh, ASI, Dhananjay Singh, ASI, Pramod Pandey, Head Constables, Manas Upadhyay, Ramsahay Kushwaha, Sheshnarayan, Anoop Singh, Balgovind, Sadiq Ali, Neeraj Tiwari, Jaiprakash, Brijendra Kasana, Mohit Upadhyay, Mukul Gautam, Virendra, Rammilan, Amit Shrivastava, Ramgopal and Constable, Prashant Pandey.
