Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh along with a number of party workers and volunteers have been making tireless efforts for restoration and cleaning of stepwells in the city under Gatiman Bharat programme, on completion of 9 years of BJP Government in the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Friday, MP Singh along with party workers cleaned a stepwell in Garha area. Ongoing efforts of MP Singh, on Friday got acclamation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who on his official Twitter handle wrote “Commendable efforts! The spirit of participation in water conservation in Jabalpur is inspiring for everyone.”
MP Singh expressed happiness on the Prime Minister’s appreciation about the water conservation endeavors in Jabalpur. He said this is the second time the Prime Minister has recognised their efforts, the first being for the development and beautification work of the Sangram Sagar lake. He emphasised that PM Modi has consistently inspired people in the realm of water conservation and highlighted his dedication to environment. MP Singh appealed everyone to learn from the Prime Minister’s extensive knowledge on the subject.
During the on-going campaign, MP Rakesh Singh and party workers clean and restore the stepwell in Garha. Singh stressed the importance of passing on the water legacy to future generations and appealed people to contribute to the task. He stressed the need to retain rainwater and prevent its wastage by allowing it to seep into the ground. Singh highlighted the foresight of their ancestors in constructing water structures that prevent the depletion of water levels. He said the stepwells, which was once a significant water structure, have suffered deterioration over time. The area around the stepwells has seen construction activities and people have been dumping garbage into it. Singh urged people to take responsibility for preserving the heritage and preventing it from pollution. He also expressed gratitude to party workers and sanitation workers of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation for their efforts in cleaning the stepwell.
