In a similar incident like that of the washing away of the shuttering of the under-construction bridge on Sagni Ghat of Sheonath River in Durg district on Wednesday, the shuttering of the under-construction bridge at Ravelidih, Arsnara, Pathariya Doma road amounting to Rs 1581.71 lakh also washed away on the same day. No officials were present on the spot during both the incidents. Also due to lack of security arrangements to prevent people from reaching both the bridges, video of the collapse and washing away of the shuttering and staging of both the bridges were recorded by people and uploaded on social media. On the other hand the executive engineer termed it as a normal incident and informed of issuing a notice to the concerned construction company.

According to Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Bridge Construction Division Durg, the length of the high level bridge is 300.00 m. (13 spans @ 23.077 m each) the contract of which was given to Amar Infrastructure Durg. Presently Span No 1, 4 and 7 are complete and in span no 6 the beam work has been completed. Staging and shuttering work was done for 5th span. But due to delay in beam work and onset of rainy season, the contractor was directed by the department to remove staging and shuttering, which could not be done due to heavy rains. The water level in the river also raised as a result the staging and shuttering collapsed and washed away. He said that about 45 per cent of the bridge construction work has been completed. There was no damage of any kind in the work done.
