In Unfortunate cases of students killing themselves due to performance pressure in board examinations, two teenage girls committed sucide in separate incidents. A girl from Bahadura area ended her life owing to low score in examination, while failure in examation drove another girl committed suicide in Wadi area, leaving the city to mourn the loss of two more young lives. In the first incident, sixteen-year-old Chetna Bhojaraj Bhoyar, a resident of Shashikant Society in Bahadura, ended her life even after receiving a respectable 71 per cent in her Class 10 examination result. Chetna, who had been a bright student, had high expectations from her Class 10 result, but was disappointed, and eventually depressed when her result did not meet her expectation, said police.

According to police, her father, who works as a newspaper distributor was present at home when she took the extreme step. Within 30 minutes of receiving her examination result, Chetna hung herself from the ceiling fan using a scarf.

Her family's frantic efforts to save her, who rushed her to three different hospitals, went in vain, and she was eventually declared dead by doctors. Sakkardara police have registered a case of accidental death.

In the second case, 17-year-old Ramdulari Pancham Jhariya, a residing of Sonba Nagar, Wadi, committed suicide after failing in her Class 10 examination. Ramdulari lived with her mother and younger brother while her father resided separately. She was alone at home when she hung herself from the ceiling fan using a saree. The incident came to light at approximately 5 pm and, despite her family members rushing her to the hospital she was pronounced dead by doctors. Wadi police registered a case of accidental death and are investigating further.
