Raipur Police on Monday apprehended 12 youths including a minor for two-wheeler thefts from different parts of the Capital city. Police recovered 50 stolen two-wheelers worth Rs 30 lakhs from the accused youths. A special team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit received information that two persons near Tarun Nagar Bazar under Tikrapara police station area are looking for customers in the interest of selling two-wheelers. A joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Police Station Tikrapara identified and rounded up the suspects. During interrogation, the suspects indentified as Deepak Barle and Tuka Ram Sahu, residents of Tikrapara.
The youths couldn’t produce any documents regarding teh two-wheelers and confessed to commission of theft of 36 two-wheelers along with their accomplices Tilak Vaishnav and Rakesh Bagh from different places in Raipur city. On which the accused Tilak Vaishnav and Rakesh Bagh were also traced and caught. They sold some of the stolen vehicles to Tarun Sen, Toshan alias Lassu Kosle, Charan Das Satnami and Dinesh Kumar Nishad in Odisha, Dhamtari and Raipur and sold some vehicles to Told to keep it hidden in different places. On which accused Tarun Sen, Toshan alias Lassu Kosle, Charan Das Satnami and Dinesh Kumar Nishad were also arrested for purchasing stolen vehicles. All the accused were arrested and a total of 36 pieces of stolen two-wheelers worth approximately Rs 21 lakhs were seized from their possession.
On the information of the informer, the joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and police station DD Nagar, arrested the accused Bhojraj Tandi and Gorekh Mugri with stolen two-wheelers. They confessed to stealing two-wheelers along with one of their accomplice who is a minor. They stole a total of 14 two-wheelers from different places in Raipur and sold some of the stolen vehicles to Gopal Bagh, a resident of Maudhapara, Raipur. And some vehicles were told to be hidden at different places. On which the struggling boy and Gopal Bagh, the buyer of stolen vehicles were also caught by the members of the team involved in the incident.
