CM highlights importance of plantation on Environment Day

CHIEF Minister Bhupesh Baghel planted sapling of an amla tree in his residential premises on the occasion of World Environment Day on Monday. He urged the State people to take responsibility for planting and maintaining plants in their homes and surroundings. Baghel also emphasised the importance of extensive tree plantation during the upcoming monsoon season and encouraged efforts to transform villages, pasturelands, fields, and forests into lush green landscapes.
Chief Minister stated that the State Government was making every possible effort for environmental conservation. One of the core objectives of the State Government’s ambitious Godhan Nyay Yojana is environmental protection and conservation. The State Government is actively working towards improving the environment through various schemes, including Suraji Gaon Yojana, Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Protsahan Yojana, Vriksh Sampada Yojana and Krishna Kunj Yojana. Chief Minister’s Advisor Pradeep Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests V Srinivasa Rao were also present on the occasion.
