Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that human life cannot be imagined without nature. Playing with nature is fatal. To keep the earth liveable for our future generations, we all have to work towards environment protection at the individual level. We can contribute in keeping the nature green by planting saplings on our birthday, marriage anniversaries, memory of family members and other achievements of life and by taking responsibility for their care. Farmer brothers are the Dharti Putras (sons of the earth), the maximum responsibility of saving the earth rests on them. Farmers have made this day meaningful by starting a campaign to plant 1.20 crore saplings on World Environment Day. Chief Minister Chouhan was virtually inaugurating the vishal krishak and Narmada Sanrakshan Sankalp Abhiyan of Roopai Agro Foundation Pvt. Ltd. at Aawli Ghat of Seoni Malwa in Narmadapuram.
Chouhan said that the efforts of 22,000 farmers and institutions involved in this campaign of tree plantation are commendable. Appreciating the initiative of “You give me a medh (field boundary), I will give you a tree”, Chief Minister Chouhan gave the title of ‘Tree Baba’ to Director of Roopai Agri Forest Gaurishankar Mukati. He said that we have to adopt the approach of utilisation and not exploitation of nature. The Chief Minister also released the special issue Tapati Dharti of Dainik Anokha Teer newspaper. It is worth mentioning that 22,000 farmers of Makhan Nagar, Itarsi, Dolariya, Narmadapuram, Sehore, Rehti and Bhairunda will plant saplings in their fields by conducting a campaign. Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel felicitated the inspiring farmers associated with this campaign of plantation by distributing organic moong and also provided accident insurance. Minister Patel inspired everyone for environmental protection by planting saplings.
Mukati said that there is a resolution to plant 50 crore trees by the year 2030. Accident insurance will also be provided to all the farmers involved in this work. Former Chairman of MP Tourism Development Corporation Tapan Bhowmik said that Chief Minister Chouhan is presenting the best example of meaningful effort at personal level for environmental protection by planting saplings every day. Taking inspiration from CM, the people of the State must also plant saplings on special occasions. Expert Sandeep Rai gave information about the importance of carbon credit and Director IMPC Vikrant Tiwari about conservation of environment and biodiversity through tree plantation. MLA Prem Shankar Verma also addressed. During this, religious leaders, saints and a large number of farmers were present.
