NIRF picks IIM-N, DMIHER, VNIT, GDCH, Institute of Science, RTMNU

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER), Government Dental College and Hospital (GDCH), Institute of Science and Pharmacy Department of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) topped respective category of National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) from the region. Government of India’s Ministry of Education has declared the ranking of institutes in the country. Government Dental College and Hospital (GDCH) of Nagpur stood 2nd in Maharashtra and 15th in the country. This is a big achievement for any Government institute.
Dr Abhay Datarkar, Dean of GDCH expressed happiness over the development. He attributed the credit of this achievement to his staff. “We are trying to take GDCH to a new height by introducing new initiatives. We are trying to match ourselves with that of global standards. Dental education and even dental treatment is advancing. We too don’t want to stay behind so we are introducing advanced technology to get patients better treatment.”
Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur secured 43rd position in the category of Management while Institute of Management Technology (IMT) figured in the list of institutes which got the ranking between 101 and 125. VNIT stood 82nd in Overall category, and 41st in Engineering category. It secured 12th rank in the category of Architecture. Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) and G H Raisoni College of Engineering (GHRCE) figured in category of engineering. Post Graduate Teaching Department of Pharmacy, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is at 51st number while Smt Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy stood 68 among Pharmacy colleges. Bhoyar college stood first in Vidarbha among all the private pharmacy colleges. Guru Nanak College of Pharmacy figured in the list of colleges ranked between 101 and 125.
In the category of Colleges, Institute of Science secured 83rd position. Dr Jairam Khobragade proved to be the good omen for the institute as he joined today as its Director and NIRF ranking was declared. Dr Khobragade said, “This achievement serves as an inspiration to current and future students, encouraging them to pursue their academic endeavors with passion and determination. I attribute this achievement to the staff.” In medical category, Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER) stood 25th in the Medical category while its Dental college ranked 17th in the country and 3rd in Maharashtra.
