Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is likely to start the process of admissions to Under Graduate courses by June 15, 2023. The process got delayed due to some technical glitch. The RTMNU website, where students are expected to get themselves registered, was not opening for some reason. The College Section of the varsity looks after the admission process. This admission process is for non-professional Under Graduate courses, which exclude the professional courses such as engineering, management, and architecture.

Explaining the admission process, Deputy Registrar of College Section Dr Raman Madne told ‘The Hitavada’, “Students have to register themselves on the university portal, where they get a number which they have to produce at the colleges they wish to get admission. After students submit necessary documents at the respective colleges, the institutions scrutinise the applications and display the merit list. As per the merit number, students can take admission.”

Since the process of approvals, affiliation, deaffiliation is going on, the exact number of colleges expected to take part in admission process is not available. Approximately, 300 plus colleges will be part of admission process. These colleges mainly include Science, Commerce, Arts. The results of HSC and CBSE Class XII are already out. In a rough estimation, about 2 lakh total students from Nagpur region passed the examination. Of those about 1.4 lakh students come under RTMNU while remaining students from Chandrapur and Gadchiroli colleges are the part of Gondwana University
