Despite mammoth efforts, rescuers fail to save Shrishti

 

 

 

Despite launching a big rescue operation involving teams of NDRF, SDERF, Army and technical experts from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi, life of little girl Shrishti could not be saved. At the end, there were moist eyes and sad faces and what was heard was the wailing of a mother and the sobbing of a father. God didn’t answer the prayers and Shrishti, the innocent soul left forever for her heavenly abode. Teams of NDRF, SDERF, Army and technical experts from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi got success in bringing out Shrishti. They took the help of a robotic arm too. However, the girl’s life could not be saved. After taking Shrishti out of borewell, team of medical staff took her straight to the post-mortem room. The rescue operation lasted over 52 hours.

 

Shrishti fell into a 300 feet deep pit at around 1 pm on Tuesday. The local authorities started the rescue operation without any delay. In the beginning the girl was stuck at 25 feet deep but gradually she went deeper inside to around 100 feet. She kept slipping inside due to vibration caused by JCB and Poclain machines. On Thursday, the rescue teams all together got success in bringing her out. The rescue teams have drawn curtains around the borewell on the last day of the operation.

 

These borewells have been turned into cause of death so many times now. Notably, there have been six such accidents in the last six months. In these accidents of kids falling into deep borewells only two of them could be saved. There should be a strict rule for borewell and stringent punishment should be awarded to the people who cause negligence.

On Thursday, in the Sehore incident little girl Shrishti was a victim of somebody else’s carelessness. The innocent soul had no idea that the whole farm that she thinks is fit for playing, possesses deadly holes. The Sehore Police and district administration left no stone unturned to bring the girl out safely. Sehore Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi, Collector incharge Ashish Tiwari, Additional Collector Brajesh Saxena, SDM Aman Mishra, CSP Niranjan Rajput worked hard in the rescue operation but destiny had other thing in mind.
