A grand cycle rally was taken out in the city on Thursday to create awareness regarding the State Government’s ambitious scheme, Ladli Bahna Yojana and the State-level programme to be held on June 10 to distribute benefits to tens of thousands of women beneficiaries of the scheme across the State. Nearly 300 youths, women, children participated in the rally conducted under the theme ‘Ladli Bahna Aage Rahna’. The rally commenced at 5 pm from Mahakoshal College and after crossing different thoroughfares including Civil Lines, Allahabad Chowk, Delite Chowk, Mata Mariam Chowk, Empire Talkies, Railway Bridge No. 2, Tayyab Ali Chowk, Naudra Bridge, Jabalpur Hospital and concluded at Cultural Street near Bhawartal Garden. After the end of the rally, cultural programmes were organised and people, especially the women beneficiaries were appealed to participate in the programme on June 10.
It may be noted that the State-level beneficiary conference of the Madhya Pradesh Government’s ambitious and welfare-oriented scheme, ‘Ladli Bahna Yojana’, will be organised in the city at Garrison Ground, on June 10. The programme will be conducted with grandeur under the patronage of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, where the distribution of benefits will be carried out for all eligible Ladli Bahnas.
 
Meanwhile, the district administration along with other departments is making extensive preparations to provide information about the scheme to all eligible Ladli beneficiaries. Senior officials of the departments including Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, District Panchayat, Police Department, Education Department and Jabalpur Smart City have been bestowed with various responsibilities like organising painting competitions, cycle rallies and other activities to create awareness. Accordingly, a grand cycle rally was conducted in the city, on Thursday. A number of senior officials including Collector Saurabh K Suman, Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Wankhade, SP T K Vidhyarthi, District Panchayat CEO Jayati Singh, Deputy Collector Meesa Singh and others were present prominently on the occasion.
