Mayor chairs M-i-C to discuss, approve devpt works for welfare of citizens

An important meeting of Mayor-in-Council (M-i-C) was organised to discuss and give nod to a number of works related to citizens’ welfare, infrastructure and development. Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh chaired the meeting. During the meeting, the M-i-C gave nod to installation of a solar power plant to save electricity consumption. Additionally, it also approved a Garbage Transfer Station to make the city cleaner and more beautiful. The Mayor-in-Council rejected proposals received from the department to install 34 Uni-poles and 3 LED lights in various areas of the city. The Mayor instructed the officials to inspect the Transport Nagar located at Chandal Bhata at the earliest possible and start the renovation process to benefit the traders. The meeting also approved several proposals, including naming the road from Gangasagar road to Railway Bridge after former Corporator Thakur Puran Singh, installing a statue of hockey legend Major Dhyanchand at Ranital, renaming Suhagi Hanuman Temple crossing after sant Sen Shiromani Maharaj and naming P&T factory gate No. 4 after Lord Parshuram.
 
The council also approved establishment of Shaheed Abdul Hameed Chowk pillar. While in the matter of renewal of lease, it provided great relief to the denizens. The Mayor-in-Council approved more than a dozen lease renewal cases. The Mayor stated that other significant issues related to the city development were also discussed and decisions were made to speed up and carry out various development works. Singh said he and entire Mayor-in-Council are continuously striving to provide impetus to developmental works.
