WOMEN’S top seed Nehal Gosavi survived scare from youngster Nishika Gokhe to move into singles semis in the Yonex Sunrise Nagpur District Badminton Championship under way at Dhanwate National College, on Wednesday.
Nehal started well to take the opening game 15-7 but Nishika, who entered final of three events in the just-concluded Maharashtra Sub-Junior State Selection Tournament in Pune, fought back to level the score 1-1 bagging the second game 15-12. In the see-saw decider that went the distance, the better ranked player prevailed 15-13.
