FOLLOWING their global unveil in London last week, the new Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X were launched in India recently at Bajaj Auto Ltd’s Akurdi premises in Pune. The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X are designed by Triumph and will be produced in Bajaj Auto’s new Chakan plant. They will be available at an exclusive Triumph dealer network which will rapidly ramp up to more than 100 dealerships across 80 cities within this fiscal year. Speed 400 has been announced at a very attractive price of Rs. 2,33,000 (ex showroom Delhi). However, the company has announced a special inaugural price of Rs 2,23,000 for the first 10,000 customers.
The Scrambler 400 X will be available in showrooms by October and its price will be declared closer to its start of sales. Customers can book online at www.triumphmotorcyclesindia.com/booking and reserve their Triumph by paying a refundable token advance of Rs 2,000. Born into a peerless bloodline, the Speed 400 roadster joins Triumph’s most successful modern classic line-up, the Speed Twin 900 and 1200 while the Scrambler 400 X takes its rugged design cues from the Scrambler 900 and 1200, with an off-road pedigree that goes back to the first factory Scramblers of the 1950s. Designed from the ground up with a brand-new single-engine platform at their heart, these new models are designed to deliver a fun, agile and confidence-inspiring ride for riders of all ages and experience levels, informs a press release issued here.
