Khamgaon has added another feather to its cap with its contribution to Chand-rayaan-3 space mission, launched on Friday. Thermal shields from Vikamsi Fabrication at Khamgaon MIDC and silver stilling tubes from Shraddha Refinery have been used in this Chandrayaan-3 mission. This has been another big addition to the golden page of the history of the silver city Khamgaon. Thus, Khamgaon has played a vital role in the creation of Chandrayaan-3, which was launched into space on Friday afternoon.
The ambitious Chandra-yaan-3 mission took off after months of hard work from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 2.35 pm on Friday. A lot of effort has gone into making thermal shields by Vikamsi Fabrication for which material from Khamg-aon is used and it is a big achievement that the city has contributed in Chandrayaan mission. Similarly, silver stilling tubes manufactured by the famous Shraddha Refinery in Khamgaon MIDC have been used in this Chandrayaan. It contains 90 per cent silver and 10 per cent copper. Earlier, these silver stilling tubes used to be imported from abroad.
But now the silver stilling tubes manufactured by Shraddha Refinery in Khamgaon are used, informed the Director of Shraddha Refinery, Shekhar Bhosale. The usage of material from Khamgaon for Chandrayaan mission is a matter of pride not only for the entire Khamgaon people but also for the district. Due to this, Khamgaon has got a new identity in the country and this achievement will be written in golden letters in the history of Khamgaon.
