The country’s fastest running Vande Bharat Express was once again targetted by stone pelters. But this time Railway Protection Force (RPF) team arrested seven accused who are all minors and told that they pelted stones on the train to hear the sound of its siren. As per the information, the incident took place near Tilda Station on July 14, due to which the window panes of a coach were damaged. In Chhattisgarh, incidents of stone pelting were reported continuously since the very first day of maiden run of Vande Bharat Express.

After chain of incidents, the teams of RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) launched a search operation but couldn’t catch the stone pelters. But both the agencies were confirmed that minor boys living on the side of Railway tracks pelt stones at the high profile train. To prevent such incidents, RPF initiated an awareness campaign among the
people living along the Railway tracks. During this, the people and children of the nearby villages were warned of legal action after which the incident of stone pelting came stopped for a long time. On July 14 evening when the Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express was approaching Tilda station the train was once again attacked by stone pelters. The window panes of coach number C3 were damaged in the incident. Instantly after information, a case was registered at RPF Post in Bhatapara.

During the investigation, the RPF team cameto know that on the day of the incident, more than half-a-dozen children of Tilda Basti were loitering near the Railway tracks with slingshots. The RPF personnel after verifying the inputs grilled about seven minors and brought them to the RPF Outpost. During interrogations they confessed to their crime and told that they pelted stones in Vande Bharat Express to hear the sound of its siren. RPF arrested all the minor accused and produced them in the Juvenile Court at Mana, Raipur.
