IN A ghastly mishap, a teenage girl was crushed to death by a concrete mixer truck in front of her elder brother at Butibori (MIDC) on Saturday. The deceased, Tanisha Neelkanth Kawle (17) was a resident of Dream Colony, Butibori. Her brother Gaurav (21) sustained serious injuries. Tanisha was a Standard XII student of St Paul School, Hudkeshwar Road. As Tanisha wanted to purchase some text books, she and Gaurav were on the way to the book stall on a Honda Activa (MH-40/CK-1676) around 12 noon.

 

Gaurav was riding the scooterette. Suddenly, Gaurav lost control of the vehicle as a stray cow darted across the road. Their scooterette collided with the cow. The brother-sister duo fell off the vehicle. Tanisha was run over by the concrete mixer truck (TS-06/UB-2154) coming from behind and was killed instantaneously. Gaurav also sustained injuries. Butibori Police booked the truck driver. Further investigations are underway.
