As official website and mobile application of India Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) crashed on Tuesday morning, Railways has set up an additional ticket booking counters at all the stations. However, around 2:40 pm, IRCTC mobile application and website both started working, giving big relief to the passengers. Passengers were facing challenge to book their tickets via IRCTC portal or mobile app for travelling in train since Tuesday morning. IRCTC informed passengers via tweet that ticketing facility is currently unavailable due to technical error. IRCTC said that technical team is making best effort to resolve the issue.
 
West Central Railway (WCR) immediately directed its divisional offices to place additional ticket counters at all the stations. Senior DCM of Bhopal Railway Division Rashmi Baghel informed that special counters were placed at six stations, including Bhopal. Besides, help desks were also set up at Bhopal, Rani Kamalapati, Guna, Itarsi, Bina and Narmadapuram stations. She said that team is reviewing the feedback of passengers at stations and in case crowd rises, more help desk and ticket counter will be set up.
 
Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Dhirendra Sharma, resident of Jyoti Nagar said, “I was trying to book ticket for Delhi since Tuesday morning. I made four attempts and in all four attempts, amount was deducted from my saving account but ticket was not booked.” Later at 2:40 pm, error was repaired by IRCTC and it started working properly.
