Nine persons were arrested by police for allegedly procuring domicile of Assam in fraudulent manner to enter the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh and they furnished domicile of Assam and such hilly areas for taking advantage of reservation meant for residents of those areas. The accused had even cleared their exams and other formalities earlier, said police. The CRPF officers grew suspicious over them as all their school marksheets were from UP but they were submitting domicile of Assam.

They quizzed them and the accused spilled the beans. The CRPF officers informed the Misrod police. The matter came to light on Wednesday during the document verification. What alerted the CRPF men was the fact that all of them had school marksheet and address of their parents in UP but their domicile was from Assam, said the police. The Misrod police have registered a case of forging documents and fraud against them. SHO R S Sharma said that the CRPF Sub Inspector Amush Sanga lodged a complaint with the police. He said that the accused were held at the time of document verification. A case is registered and investigation is underway as if they are members of any gang that sent them with forged documents. Police said that the accused were identified as Manjeet, Rajnish, Devanand, Navneet, Vipin Kushwaha, Shivam Kashyap, Vivek Kumar, Kamal Singh and Adarsh Kumar.
