LUCK deserted girls team of Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti which went down by a solitary goal against Pragtik Mahavidyalaya, Koradi to finish runners-up in the ongoing Subroto Mukherjee Football Championship under way at Police ground on Saturday.
In the summit clash, Sakshi Vaidya scored the all important goal in the dying minutes of play to secure title (rural) for Pragtik.
Earlier in the day, BVM girls pipped Jain International 2-1. Insarah Amed and Advita Kale scored for the winners while Siya Thakral pulled one back for Jain. In the other semis, Pragtik defeated DPS Kamptee 3-0 with Anjani Waghmare netting two and Sakshi finding the target once.
Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir Koradi boys were humbled 1-4 by MM Rabbani in the last-four stage. M Umar scored a brace while M Rizwan and M Tameem hit one each for the winners. Aarav Godbole found back of the net for BVM.
In second semis, Saraswati High School blanked K John’s Saoner 5-0. Sangram Tudu beat the goalkeeper twice while the trio of Mantosh Kishu, Labhan Marandi and Akash struck once each.
