Sadar Police have registered a case against four persons, including history-sheeter Suraj Lolge, for their involvement in a case related to land matters and illegal recovery, as well as allegations of threatening and assaulting a builder. According to police, the complaint was filed by Amit Marotisinh Bilgaye (33), a builder and land developer from Shriram Nagar, New Subhedar Layout. The accused, besides Suraj alias Suryakant Lolge, a resident of Pande Lay-out, have been identified as Rupesh Vyas from Ambedkar Chowk, and Janardhan alias Guddu Maurya, along with a waiter from a restaurant 7/12.

According to the police, Amit Bilgaye and his partner had entered into a deal with Rupesh Vyas and Guddu Maurya to purchase 53,000 square feet of land in Mouza Wathoda. As per the agreement, an amount of Rs 47 lakh was handed over to Vyas and Maurya for the land purchase. Additionally, Suraj Lolge was entrusted with the task of completing all the required paperwork for the land clearance within two months, for which he was given Rs 72 lakh. However, despite the passage of one year, Suraj Lolge failed to complete the paperwork. On July 27, Amit Bilgaye met with Suraj at 7/12 restaurant in Buty Compound, Sadar, to discuss the pending work.

Frustrated by the lack of progress, Amit requested a refund of his money. In response, Suraj, along with Rupesh Vyas and Janardhan Maurya, allegedly resorted to verbal abuse and issued death threats against Amit. They also refused to return the money. The situation escalated further as all three accused physically attacked Amit Bilgaye. Suraj’s waiter, who was present during the altercation, reportedly struck Amit on the head with an iron rod, causing severe injuries. After the assault, Amit informed the Sadar Police about the incident and filed a complaint against Suraj Lolge and the other accused. It may be mentioned here that Lolge was previously arrested for threatening a doctor and extorting Rs 5 lakh from him. A case under Sections 109, 294, 323, 324, 506 (2) and 34 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Sadar police.
