Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel instructed the officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) to ‘improve the health’ of roads after the rainy season. Stressing the importance of providing convenience to citizens, he directed the officials that ‘no negligence should occur’ in the process. He emphasised that all concerned state agencies should work in coordination with each other to expedite the work related to the construction of roads in State. During the review meeting, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel discussed the progress of ongoing projects in Raipur City, which include the construction of a flyover at Telibandha, a road linking Sharda Chowk to Tatyapara Chowk, the VIP road from Atal Expressway, and the Kharoon River Front development.

 

Particularly emphasising the 510-metre-long road from Sharda Chowk to Tatyapara Chowk, estimated at approximately Rs 137 crore, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel instructed officials to expedite its implementation, including construction and land acquisition. He also discussed the progress on the Telibandha overbridge and the Expressway-to-VIP Road overbridge with Public Works Department officials. In the review meeting, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel emphasised the swift completion of the remaining road construction projects. Officials from the Public Works Department informed that the department has completed 292.2 kilometres of road construction out of the approved 332.7 kilometres of roads in the Surguja region.

 

The remaining 40.5 kilometres of the road will be constructed after the rainy season. In the Raigarh region, the department has completed the construction of 155.4 kilometres of roads. The Chief Minister Mr. Baghel directed the officials to complete the construction work of the road in both places as soon as possible, considering the people’s convenience. Public Works Department Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Education Minister Ravindra Choubey, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, Special Secretary of Urban Administration Department Ayyaz Bhai Tamboli, Managing Director of CGRIDCL Saransh Mittar, and senior officials of PWD were present.
