CM announces sops on Tribal Day

 

 

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel declared the establishment of a Government B.Ed. College in Ambikapur. The announcement was made during the commemoration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, held at Stadium Sitapur in Surguja district. Chief Minister Baghel took this opportunity to unveil a range of developmental initiatives aimed at the upliftment of the indigenous communities. Among the notable announcements made by Chief Minister Baghel were the expansion of 20-seater pre-matric tribal hostels into 50-seater hostels across all districts within the Surguja division. He also announced plans to rename the Government Higher Secondary School in Sitapur after Shaheed Krishnanath Kindo. Besides establishment of Adivasi Post Matric 200-seater hostels, creation of a sports and coaching sports academy in Sitapur, and allocation of Rs 25 lakh for the construction of Sarv Adivasi Bhawan. Construction of a 125-meter-long overbridge spanning the Mand river, connecting Dhelsara to Dharampur, at an estimated cost of around Rs 4.75 crore was another highlight. Lands are set to be allotted for the Sarv Adivasi Samaj as well as other marginalized communities. Another noteworthy project is the construction of a 250-meter bridge on the Maini river, linking the DhodhagaonShivnathpur route, which is projected to cost approximately Rs 10 crore.

 

Acknowledging the socio-cultural fabric of the region, Chief Minister Baghel also announced an allocation of Rs 20 lakh for the construction of a community building dedicated to the Uraon community. He allocated budget of around Rs 5.62 crore for the construction of a 3.5-kilometer road along the Chainpur-Khadgaon route in Mainpat. Recognizing the potential of the tribal youths, Chief Minister Baghel outlined plans for providing specialized training in areas such as tourist guide, hotel management, photography, receptionist work, and adventure sports. The Tribal Development Department will extend crucial economic assistance to ensure the participation of tribal youths in national and international sporting events. Chief Minister Baghel sanctioned funds for the construction of a shade and toilet facility at the Sitapur tehsil office, amounting to Rs 15 lakh. Furthermore, a 5-kilometer road project connecting Paiga to Nandamali in the Mainpat block is set to be realized at an approximate cost of Rs 7.40 crore.

 

During his address, Chief Minister Baghel highlighted the progressive undertakings of his government, underscoring their commitment to upliftment and development across various sectors. Deputy Chief Minister T S Singhdeo, Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, and Kumari Selja, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary for Chhattisgarh also spoke on the occassion. Labour Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya, State Congress President Deepak Baij, Inspector General of Police Surguja Range Ankit Garg, Collector Kundan Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma, as well as other officials and public representatives were present.
