Krishnakumar Dhruv, former MLA of Keshkal Vidhansabha, wrote a letter to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, informing them about the plight of the widow of a martyr after her promotion as headmaster was rolled back when she couldn’t manage to assume charge in a sensitive area. Dhruv informed that assistant teacher Hemlata Netam was promoted as the headmaster and posted to a sensitive place and later her promotion was rolled back when she was unable to assume charge due to health reasons. He demanded justice and relief to the wife of the tribal martyr. After visiting the martyr’s house and meeting his widow wife, former MLA Dhruv informed that that Shaheed Shivlal Netam attained martyrdom on April 7, 2020, while discharging his duty in CRPF-116 Battalion, Beej Behra, Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

His wife Hemlata Netam was posted as assistant teacher in primary school, Patoda development block, Farasgaon district, was promoted through an order dated June 07, 2023 and posted to Polpapara Kongud Development block in Farasgaon. District Superintendent of Police, Kondagaon wrote a letter dated June 12, 2023 to Collector for posting assistant teacher Hemlata Netam from sensitive area to general area. In the event of non-acceptance of the application for posting from sensitive area to general area, Hemlata Netam, assistant teacher, was relieved of work from primary school, Patoda development block, Farasgaon district, Kondagaon district, on July 1 and took charge at new post at primary school, Polpapara, Kongud development block, Farasgaon district. On July 3, 2023, she met the Collector to request for extension of the period of taking charge from June 15 to 30 due to health reasons. The Collector forwarded the letter given to the District Education Officer and Development Block Officer. She tried to meet the District Education Officer by taking the application letter, failed.

 

The applicant reached the block officer with the letter. She was suggested to submit an application for not taking promotion so that there is no problem in drawing salary. Being constrained, the applicant submitted her application regarding not taking the promotion. After this, the proceedings related to being relieved and taking charge were cancelled. Now the applicant is working without promotion in the former place of posting Primary School Patoda Development Block Farsgaon District Kondagaon. The ex-MLA has raised the question that- considering the family of the martyr as a special case, why can’t be she posted from the sensitive area to the general area?
