A man was brutally murdered by two persons over a dispute that erupted after the former tried to shoo away a stray dog. The accused duo thought the shooing gesture was for them and, in a fit of anger, attacked the man with a stone and a knife, injuring him fatally. The incident took place in Beltarodi Police Station limits on Tuesday late night. Aman Nagesh Chauhan (22), the prime accused in the murder of Sudharam alias Rama Mangal Baheshwar (46), has been apprehended by the police on Wednesday. According to police, Rama was killed in the altercation that ensued when he attempted to shoo away a dog that had intercepted his motorcycle.The incident took place on the road near Mahakalinagar slums at 8.30 pm. Aman Chauhan and a juvenile delinquent engaged in altercation with Rama. The minor threw a stone at Rama and Aman brandished a knife.
 
While the stone hit Rama’s head, Aman stabbed Rama in his stomach and ribs. Injured Rama was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’. Rama is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter. A police said, Aman’s whereabouts remained unknown for hours. Later, he returned home. Citizens informed the police, resulting in subsequent arrest of Aman after a brief chase. Just two days prior to the incident, Aman, wielding a knife had created scenes in the area and had engaged in altercations with other youths. Due to mounting tensions, the Quick Response Team (QRT) was deployed to maintain law and order in the locality. A case under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered by Beltarodi Police against Aman Chauhan.
