NAGPUR’S Tanay Bansod helped India win a silver medal in the Macau Open Roller Hockey Championship that concluded recently.
Bansod is an ex-student of DRB Sindhu Mahavidyalaya and a B PEd from Jyotiba College of Physical Education Nagpur University.
In the year 2022-23 he had represented Bharti Vidyapeeth Pune (while studying Corporate Law) in the All India Inter-University Roller Hockey Championship and won silver. Bansod also participated in State Championship under the Skating Association of Maharashtra and School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
Bansod was felicitated by Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro Vice-Chancellor RTM Nagpur University and Dr Sharad Suryawanshi Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports RTMNU.
Dr Vishwajeet Pendsey, Principal, DRB Sindhu Mahavidyalaya; Dr Vijay Datarkar, Principal, JCPE, Nagpur District Roller Skating Association’s (NDRSA) Baba Deshpande and Sunil Shirsikar, Shabbir Vali, Anil Bobde, Adv Sachin Sambre, Dr Upendra Varma (Secretary NDRSA), Swapnil Samarth were among others who congratulated Bansod.
Bansod, son of Ashish and Surekha, has been training under coach Dr Varma since 14 years.
