The second Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the voter lists will commence across State on Wednesday. Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Chhattisgarh Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that the second special summary revision of the voter lists will begin on Wednesday. Objections and claims will be received from August 2 to 31. Special camps for inclusion of new voters will be organised at all booths of the state on August 12, 13, 19 and 20. Objections and claims will be resolved till September 22. The final publication of the voter lists will be held on August 4.
 
There are total 24,109 polling stations including 204 new polling booths in the state. Buildings of 970 polling stations have been changed and venues of 568 polling states have been changed. At present, there 1,96,40,430 voters including 98,06,906 male voters, 98,32,757 female voters and 767 third gender. The gender ratio is 1003. There are 4,25,698 youth voters in State. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) will organise a ‘Walkathon’ in Raipur on Wednesday, urging the citizens to enroll and actively participate in the democratic process.
 
CEO Reena Babasaheb Kangale urged people, including youth, women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, the third gender community, NGOs, and government officials and employees, to participate in the walkathon on Wednesday, starting at 7 am from Gandhi Udyan Chowk situatedn G.E. Road and finishing at Shaheed Smarak Bhawan. Joint CEO Nileshkumar Kshirsagar and Joint CEO Bipin Manjhi were also present in the press conference.
