Making another breakthrough in Sana Khan murder case, the City police arrested one more accused on Saturday after discovering his role in the disposal of Sana’s body. The number of accused persons is likely to increase on Sunday. Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar said that Dharmendra Yadav, a resident of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested after grilling for more than six hours. “He helped prime accused Pappu alias Amit Sahu in disposing of Sana’s body,” the CP said. Another official said that the police are connecting the dots of the murder case and phone calls made by Pappu Sahu in the next 10 days.

He was continuously in touch with some persons and most of them have been criminals. The City police have formed special 13 teams of Crime Branch to investigate the case as the top brass was suspecting a major conspiracy in the murder of Sana Khan, a 34-year-old functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Minority Cell from Awasthi Nagar. The investigators are also suspecting that the prime accused, Pappu alias Amit Sahu, a resident of Jabalpur, was misleading the investigation machinery as he changes versions of the story every other day.

The police officers, privy to the investigation, are suspecting that Pappu was hiding some truths of the murder case. Sana alias Heena Khan went missing on August 2 after a confrontation with her partner-turned-foe, Pappu. The relationship between the two had reportedly soured, with Pappu suspecting Sana’s fidelity. The situation escalated on August 1 during a video call between Sana and Amit. Following the altercation, Sana traveled to Jabalpur on August 2 and entered Pappu’s residence, where a violent confrontation ensued, resulting in her murder. After killing Sana, Pappu had dumped a bag containing her belongings at Dhuma village, 50 km from Jabalpur.
