CM announces elevation of Katangi, Poudi to tehsils

 

 

 

Addressing a mammoth gathering during the Mahila Sammelan and inauguration of various development projects at Pragyadhama Katangi, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced elevation of Katangi and Poudi to the status of tehsils and stated that orders for the same will be issued soon. Likewise, he also unveiled plans to upgrade Patan district headquarters high school to a higher secondary school. Congratulating everyone involved in the success of Chandrayaan-3’s safe and soft landing on the moon, Chief Minister Chouhan praised the remarkable achievement under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a huge gathering of Ladli Bahna, he emphasised the Government’s commitment to transform lives of women, launching numerous welfare schemes to empower them economically and socially.

 

Reflecting on ‘Ladli Bahna Yojana’, Chouhan expressed his duty to provide his sisters with gifts and hence he started a monthly allowance of Rs 1000 to be deposited in their accounts. He disclosed his plan to interact with sisters across the State on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August 27. Chouhan highlighted advancement of women in the State by reserving 50 per cent of seats in Panchayat and Municipal elections. He said stringent punishments, including capital punishment, await those who commit atrocities against women and girls. In Katangi, Chouhan performed bhoomipujan for development projects worth Rs 548.88 crore. Those present on the occasion were MP Rakesh Singh, State Minister Gopal Bhargava, MP Rajya Sabha Sumitra Balmiki, Nandani Marawi, Santosh Varakde and others.
