After rigorous search for seven days, the Rural Police managed to retrieve body of businessman Nirala Kumar Jaiprakash Singh (43) from Wardha river near Dharwad village under the jurisdiction of Arwi Police Station of Wardha district. The body swept away almost 100 km from the spot on Amravati road from where it was tossed by the assailants on July 25. Confirming the development, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vishal Anand said that the body was discovered in the river. The Wardha police have been asked to take it into custody. A team of Rural Police will take the possession of the decomposed body on Thursday.
 
A post-mortem will be performed and forensic experts would also be engaged in the operation, he said. A police official said that the recovery of the body would be important to build strong evidence against the perpetrators involved in the double murder. The body, found wrapped in tarpaulin, is decomposed. Nirala Kumar (43), a resident of Prasad Apartment, HB Town, Pardi; and Ambarish Devdutt Gole (40), a resident of Narkesari Layout, Jaiprakash Nagar, were shot dead by the assailants on the night of July 25 at a farmhouse. Both victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot. In an attempt to destroy the evidence, the accused had set the bodies ablaze by pouring petrol.
However, heavy rain extinguished the fire, thwarting their initial plan. The murderers had wrapped the bodies in tarpaulin and kept them in Ambarish’s car. They drove the car upto the Wardha river on Amravati Road, where they tossed the bodies in the river on July 26 at around 3 pm. By 4 am, the perpetrators returned to Nagpur, and burnt the evidences at the dilapidated building ‘White House’ in Dattawadi.
 
The police have arrested mastermind Omkar Mahendra Talmale (25), a resident of Smruti Layout, Wadi; expelled Bajrang Dal leader Vishal Pawankumar Punj (41), a resident of Plot No 15/04, Mohan Nagar Badkas Chowk, Kotwali; Harsh Anandilal Verma (22), a resident of Plot No 39, Khadgaon Road, Sonba Nagar; Danesh Durgaprasad Shivpeth (21), a resident of Godhni Road, Old Mankapur; Lucky Snajay Turkel (22), a resident of Mariyam Nagar, Sitabuldi; Harsh Saudagar Bagde (19), a resident of Plot No 37, Dattawadi, Wadi have been arrested by the police, so far.
