Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel virtually distributed the Unemployment Allowance for August 2023 to the beneficiaries under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme at his official residence in State Capital on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister virtually distributed Rs 34.55 crore among 1,29,886 youth beneficiaries. Additionally, 82 officers received ITI Training Officer appointment letters. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Baghel stated that the State Government has distributed an amount of Rs 146.98 crore under the Unemployment Allowance scheme to unemployed individuals. The scheme’s objective is not solely financial assistance but also linking educated youth with jobs and entrepreneurship. Baghel expressed his joy in providing meaningful work to unemployed youth.
 
Chief Minister Baghel said that the State government is organising regular placement camps in the state to provide employment opportunities to skilled unemployed youth. He emphasised that the state government is providing new employment opportunities to the educated youth on a regular basis. A total of 6,692 individuals have been connected to jobs and self-employment through this initiative. Among them, 4,718 individuals who were receiving Unemployment Allowance, have found employment through the placement camps. Notably recruitment for 42,000 government posts has begun recently and is expected to be completed quickly. Additionally, advertisements were released for 920 ITI training officer posts. He distributed the appointment letters to 82 eligible candidates after document verification.bChief Minister Baghel highlighted the State Government’s efforts in equipping youth with employable skills through Livelihood College, Polytechnic, ITI, and more. Currently, 7,200 youths are undergoing training, and training for an additional 1,782 individuals will commence soon. Notably, the state government has signed an MoU of Rs 1,186 crore with Tata Technology to launch fresh courses across 36 Government ITIs. This initiative will provide skilled training to over 10,000 youths for various employment opportunities.
 
Furthermore, the school education is being integrated with ITI benefitting interested students of 119 schools across 116 development blocks from ITI training. Baghel also shared that he will inaugurate five ITIs of this kind in September, ushering in a remarkable chance for youth to undergo employment-oriented training. During the programme, Chief Minister Baghel interacted with beneficiaries of Unemployment Allowance and recently appointed training officers of ITI. The youth expressed gratitude for the relief provided by the Unemployment Allowance, and shared its positive impact on their careers. Deputy Chief Minister T S Singhdeo and Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat also addressed the programme. Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Corporation Girish Dewangan, Chief Secretary. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, Principal Secretary Alok Shukla, Secretary of Employment and Training Department Topeshwar Verma, Director of Employment and Training Department Awanish Sharan, Chief Executive Officer of Skill Development Divya Mishra and other officers were present.
