In the wake of incessant rainfall wreaking havoc across the city, public representatives wasted no time in tackling the dire situation of water-logging in several areas within municipal limits. With a positive approach, they conducted inspection of affected areas from crack of dawn. By promptly calling the municipal authorities, they ensured implementation of effective measures to mitigate overflow of rainwater and extend much-needed relief to distressed citizens. MLA Ashok Rohani and Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh who conducted inspection of a number of areas under Cantt. Assembly separately, met with individuals affected by waterlogging. After listening to people’s concerns and assessing the extent of the damage, they assured them that the government would take full responsibility and provide compensation for losses incurred due to the relentless downpour.

MLA Rohani and Mayor Singh also ensured distribution of food packets and clean drinking water to hundreds of affected residents during the inspection. They directed municipal authorities to remain on high alert for a span of 24 hours, fully prepared to confront potential waterlogging incidents. They also directed concerned officials to take immediate action on reports or grievances arise during heavy rains. MLA Ashok Rohani visited Narmada Nagar, Pink City, Chaitanya City, New Kanchanpur and others areas under Cantt. Assembly. Likewise, Mayor, Jagat Bahadur Singh also visited many such areas and ensured needed arrangements. It may be noted that the continuous rainfall over the last two days has resulted in waterlogging in many areas under Cantt. Assembly.
