Ushering in to the new edition of global platform, State-owned, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, commonly known as MCU, signed an memorandum of understanding with Daffodils International University in Dhaka. Elaborating to about the new venture to ‘The Hitavada’ over phone, Dr K G Suresh said “the MoU with Daffodils International University has been signed. It is the largest private university of Bangladesh. On behalf of the said University, Professor (Dr) M Lutfar Rahman was present. It consists faculty and student exchanges between the two premier universities.”
In his address, the V C said “NEP is proving a landmark to the education system. Not only in country, but other nations are looking at India in view of its talent pool and prevailing education system. In future, India will become a global education hub.” Academic fraternity from different parts of the State expressed happiness over this initiative. Professor Kamana Joshi from Jabalpur said, “such initiatives will open new avenues for students as well as for faculties. It will give comprehensive approach to their respective fields.” She further said that “association of Asia’s first and India’s largest media University Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal, and Bangaldesh largest private university will consolidated two nations relations also.” In his remarks, Professor Suresh termed the agreement as a landmark as it implemented the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020 which envisions internationalisation of Indian education and making India a global education hub.
Professor Rahman expressed the hope that the MoU would usher in closer co-operation between the two institutions in the domain of research. Professor Suresh later addressed the education forum organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce which witnessed the participation of several Vice Chancellors from both countries. In his address, he highlighted the role of NEP 2020 in bringing about radical changes in Indian education system. Earlier, Professor Suresh also addressed the office bearers and members of the Bangladesh-India Friendship Society besides addressing the inaugural and closing ceremonies of ICAN 6 International Media Conference in Dhaka.”
