National Handloom Dayobserved at ‘HathkarghaAur Hastshilp Mela’

 

 

National Handloom Day (Rashtriya Hathkargha Divas) was observed with great fanfare here at the ongoing exhibition - ‘Maharashtra Hathkargha Aur Hastshilp Mela’ being conducted by Sant Ravidas M P Hastshilp Evam Hathkargha Vikas Nigam Ltd at South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Civil Lines in the city. The exhibition started on August 1 and will continue till August 10.

 

On the occasion, products made by Khadi Gram Udyog Vindhya Mati Kala Board are being displayed. These products are being displayed with an objective of providing a platform to the artisans. In addition to this, the exhibition is also providing an opportunity to the people of Nagpur to see the skills and creations of the artisans.

 

Pankaj Koli Chanderi inaugurated the exhibition on August 2. About 50 craftsmen and weavers from different parts of Madhya Pradesh are participating and directly selling their products in this exhibition. Entry to the exhibition is free and it will remain open for the visitors every between 12 noon and 9pm.
