ON THE strength of their excellent performance, Delhi teams clinched the 17th National Floorball Tournament for men and women organised by Indian Floorball Federation, Floorball Association of Maharashtra on the occasion of the centenary year of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University at its Ravi Nagar ground. In the women’s final, Delhi defeated Haryana 3-2 to win the title. In the fight for third place, Maharashtra women defeated Tamil Nadu 4-2 goals. In the men’s final, Delhi defeated Karnataka 2-0 in penalty shoot-out.
Both the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time. In the third place match, Madhya Pradesh beat Maharashtra 4-2. The winners received trophies from Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU. On the occasion, Indian Floorball Federation President Harinder Kumar, District Sports Officer Pallavi Dhatrak, Gwalior University Sports Director Dr CP Singh, Indian Floorball Federation General Secretary Pradeep Singh, Floorball Association of Maharashtra General Secretary Ravindra Chauthve, Principal of Podar International School SN Sahu, Floorball Association President Shiv Chhatrapati Award recipient Lakshmi Chaure and others were present.
