Lokayukta Police, Jabalpur trapped Block-Level Officer (BLO), Jabalpur District while taking bribe of Rs 2,500 for making voter identity card of appellant, on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Vishali Ram Kol, posted as Block Level Officer (BLO), Jabalpur district. According to Lokayukta Police Jabalpur, an appellant Ahraz Khan (33), son of Wakil Khan, a resident of Lal Bahadur Shastri Ward in Jabalpur lodged a written complaint at office of Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Jabalpur that he had applied for making of his voter identity card. He several times contacted the BLO of his ward for making of his voter identity card but the BLO demanded bribe of Rs 3,000.
Acting on the complaint, SP Lokayukta constituted a team and fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was confirmed a team of Lokayukta Police Jabalpur trapped the accused while taking bribe of Rs 2,500 from the appellant at Government Primary School, Adhartal. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt Government employee under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway. The accused was trapped by team led by DSP Lokayukta, Surekha Parmar comprising Inspector Swapnil Das, Inspector Manju Tirkey and others.
