GYAN Vidya Mandir emerged champions of the Under-15 Nehru Cup Hockey Tournament organised by District Sports Office. The title win helped Gyan Vidya Mandir qualify for the divisional-level competition. In the final, they defeated Bhavan’s, Ashti 2-1. Raj Mahato and Tushal Gaikwad scored goals for the winners. In the semi-finals, they got the better of School of Scholars Beltarodi 2-0. Prathamesh Rageet and Parthak Bante scored the goals. Founder and Principal of the school AR Pandey, head teacher Sita Pandey, sports teacher Prashant Manwatkar, supervisor Rajesh Sahu, Rita Akotkar and Anjali Gautam congratulated the players. The team included Devansh Korekar, Durgesh Bhujade, Raj Mahato, Atharva Ghorpade, Atharva Rangari, Chaitanya Kadu, Tushal Gaikwad, Prathamesh Rageet, Khushant Patle, Parthak Bante, Raunak Krishna, Vitesh Naranje, Atharva Khobragade.
 
Ira win Nehru titles
 
THE boys and girls teams of Ira International continued their dominance as they went on to clinch the Under-17 hockey title (Rural) in the Nehru Hockey District-level tournament. Both the teams thus qualified for the divisional-level meets. In the boys category, Ira International defeated Delhi Public School, Kamptee 4-0. Vedant Gajbhiye scored a brace while Parag Gaurkar and Sachin Saini scored a goal each. In the first match, they defeated School of Scholars 3-0. In girls category, Ira International blanked DPS Kamtee 4-0 with Samiksha Yelane scoring a hat-trick and Anchal Saini scoring a goal.
 
St Vincent Pallotti bag U-17 crown
 
ST VINCENT Pallotti High School clinched the District Sports Office organised inter-school girls hockey title. In the Under-17 final, St Vincent Pallotti defeated Kids World 3-2 via sudden death. Both the teams failed to score in the regulation time and the match was decided via tie-breaker. In the tie-breaker, Sejal Rode and Rachel Joqi scored for Pallotti while for Kids World, Bhargavi and Apurva found the back of the net to take the match into sudden death. In sudden death, Sejal converted her push to help St Vincent Pallotti win the title.
