A 38-year-old man and his wife were found hanging in their home on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased Naresh Gaud and his wife Rita Thakur (30) lived in Pipaliya Jahirpeer village of Sukhi Sewania. Panic gripped the village as the two bodies were found hanging together in their home through a common rod. The couple did not have any child and they lived with 70-year-old mother of the man, said police. Head Constable Arvind Sharma said that they found a suicide note from the room where they were hanging. The note is not very clear but it appears that they ended their lives over trivial disputes in their family, he said.

 

He said that their 70-year-old mother had gone to a neighbour’s house on the day. As she returned she tried to call them but the door was locked and there was no response from inside. The elderly woman then called their family friend Jitendra Sahu, who then called Gaud and started hitting the door but all his calls and knocks on the door also went unanswered, said police. He then scaled the roof of the house and peeped inside to find the couple hanging in front of each other. The bodies were brought down and the locals informed police. The Sukhi Sewania police personnel reached the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem. Police said that in the suicide note they have written about financial crunch and also there are disputes between them, said a cop. He said that the investigation into the case is underway.
