Where there is nature, there is life and when this nature is damaged, life is also affected. To realise this phrase, on the instructions of Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena, a large-scale tree plantation campaign has been started by the Municipal Corporations in the cities and villages. Along with plantation, regular maintenance of plants is also being done and people are also being made aware. Under this campaign, a target has been set to plant more than 90,729 saplings across the city. Under this tree plantation campaign, 52,950 saplings have been planted. Saplings were planted by the Municipal Corporations at various places in colonies, premises, houses and chowk intersections. Municipal Corporation Bhilai has a target of planting 16,671 saplings, out of which 6,447 saplings have been planted so far. Municipal Corporation Durg has a target of planting 23,595 saplings, out of which 16,550 saplings have been planted. Municipal Corporation Risali has a target of planting 10,050 saplings, out of which 5,320 saplings have been planted so far. While 16,005 saplings are to be planted by Municipal Corporation Charoda, out of which 2,670 saplings have been planted.
Tree plantation work has been done at a rapid pace in the cities as well as the villages. A target of 1,400 saplings was set in Municipality Dhamdha, more than the target 3,910 saplings have been planted. The target was 2,500 in Ahiwara in which 2,750 saplings were planted more than the target, the target was 1,370 saplings in Jamul in which 2,070 saplings were planted more than the target, the target was 1,860 in Patan Municipality of the district in which 1,535 saplings were planted. Similarly, a target of 1,870 saplings has been set in Amleshwar, 1,800 saplings in Utai and 10,000 saplings have been set in Kumhari, out of which 8,028 saplings were planted.
